Inflammation Nation
Inflammation Is Responsible For More Than Half Of All Deaths Worldwide. My 5-Step Inflammation-Reduction Protocol Here...
Inflammation is the silent killer…
When I came across this stat it stopped me dead in my tracks…
“9 of the 10 diseases on the top 10-list of causes of mortality from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are inflammation-related. As of 2019, inflammation was contributing to more than half of all deaths worldwide — a percentage that has only increased since the COVID-19 pandemic.” ~ Nature Medicine
One of the three big objectives of The Renegade Report — aside of Restoring The Integrity Of Public Health & Science and Fighting Medical Tyranny — is Building Resilient Humans…
No way to do that if you have excess inflammation in your body.
The great majority of the US population walk around heavily inflamed (sick) and they don’t even know it…
So What Is Inflammation?
In a nutshell, inflammation is when infection, injury or disease hits your body. It happens to all of us from time to time. Inflammation is your body’s natural response to either of the three.
Acute, or short-term inflammation is normal, not a problem, and is your body’s response for fighting off infection, injury or disease.
Chronic, or prolonged inflammation is a major problem though, and it means your body is hanging on to infection, injury or disease and can’t get rid of it. This can create a compound effect which can lead to a host of serious health issues.
One of the authors of the Nature Medicine report referenced above stated:
“We have known for a long time that inflammation plays role in heart disease and in cancer’s growth and metastasis. Inflammation is also a main driver of cognitive aging and neuro-degenerative disorders like Alzheimer's. But the real ‘aha’ over the past 10 years is inflammation’s role in mental health conditions like anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder.”
The effect if inflammation on the brain is something that’s surfaced only recently, has caught my attention as of late too, and is something we’ll be focusing on quite a bit here in future issues of The Renegade Report.
It’s a concept called Neurogenesis: the process of creating new neurons or brain cells. More to come.
Inflammation Nation…
Big Food, Big Chemical and Big Pharma are wreaking havoc on America…
Ultra-processed, fake food (pervasive now in America), toxic chemicals in our agriculture and in our food and water sources, heavy pesticides on our crops, hormones in our meat supply, chem trails in our skies, along with excess medication in the body has Americans more inflamed than ever — walking disease and virus factories.
It’s a battle today to put clean food and water on our table and to eliminate as many chemicals as possible from our environment. But it’s a battle you must be in, now more than ever…
Just think… the organic food “industry” was not even a concept as little as 30 years ago. Everything was organic by nature. As in, untouched, unprocessed and un-chemicalized. Clean, natural foods didn’t need to be labeled organic. They only need to be labeled as organic today so that you know which food contains the chemicals and which do not. Sad state of affairs.
It should be no surprise why, 9 of the 10 diseases on the top 10-list of causes of mortality from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are inflammation-related.
Fortunately, inflammation is relatively easy to lower or eliminate through lifestyle measures. Mainly through proper nutrition, exercise, sleep and stress management.
Unfortunately, most don’t want to do the work to eat, exercise, sleep and manage stress in a diligent enough manner to keep inflammation low.
I’ll share my simple, 5-step inflammation-reduction protocol below…
Good News And Bad News. Which Do You Want First?
Lets start with the bad news…
The great majority of Traditional medical doctors don’t really have any idea how to test for inflammation levels in the body, or are simply too lazy to offer the test. They’re mainly trained to write prescriptions versus isolating problems.
The good news…
Functional medical doctors start with inflammation because they know this is the beginning point of all healing. Functional medical doctors focus on “metabolic health.” Metabolic health is the key.
In a study published in the Journal of Metabolic Syndrome and Related Disorders, researchers from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill evaluated data from 8,721 adults from the 2009 to 2016 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). They found that just 1 in 8 adults in the United States have optimal metabolic health.
They defined metabolic health as having ideal levels of blood sugar, triglycerides, high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, blood pressure, and waist circumference, without using medications. These factors directly relate to a person’s risk for heart disease, diabetes, and stroke.
For context, all Functional medical doctors began as Traditional medical doctors, so they are all doctors. Traditional medical doctors are only trained to treat the problem with medicine. Functional medical doctors are trained to find out how and why the problem formed in the first place so they can’t treat the root cause, with medicine being a last resort versus a first resort. 👈 That right there is a game-changer!
I’ll include a link in the P.S. below to The Institute For Functional Medicine (IFM) so that you can find a Functional medical doctor in your area if you don’t already have one. I believe it’s critical to have both, in case you break a bone or something. But other than that, not much need for Traditional medical doctors who only treat symptoms and not the cause. I’m a member of IFM. They are the leading Functional medicine platform in the US.
The C-Reactive Protein (CRP) Test…
There is a very simple blood test that is readily available for you to see exactly what your inflammation levels are in your body.
The CRP test measures the level of C-reactive protein in your blood. C-reactive protein is a substance produced by the liver in response to inflammation. The test is used to detect and monitor inflammation in the body, which can be caused by a variety of conditions, such as infections, autoimmune disorders, and chronic diseases. A high level of CRP in your blood may indicate acute or chronic inflammation somewhere in your body.
This is a test that should be done at least once per year minimum. I recommend two to three times per year personally. Once a year is a long time to be letting inflammation circulate in your body without knowing where you stand. I have mine tested three times per year, approximately every 4 months. You simply have to to know your inflammation numbers.
I’m shocked by how few know about or take this test. It just shows how truly lost our Traditional medical field is and how careless and captured our public health agencies are. You have no choice but to take full ownership of your metabolic health and these crucial tests today because it does not appear that the Traditional medical community is planning on waking up any time soon.
The lower the score the better. The higher the score, the higher the inflammation in your body. A score above a 3 means you have high inflammation levels in your body.
My C-reactive protein score is very low. I came in under .5 in my last test a few months ago, which is exceptionally low inflammation for someone my age (50).
Lets talk about how I do it below, in closing…
My Simple, Inflammation-Reduction Protocol…
This is a very simple 5-step foundational approach anyone can implement immediately…
Nutrition: eating a diet low in processed carbs and sugars, high in quality proteins such as natural grass fed meats and wild fish, and high in unsaturated fats (healthy fats) is THE key to low inflammation. Food IS medicine. But only if it’s sourced well, free of chemicals, pesticides and hormones. Source is everything. No, read meat is not bad for you. And no, fats don’t make you fat. That’s fake science that fuels an “industry.” Time Restricted Eating (TRE) and Intermittent Fasting is crucial too as it keeps blood sugar low, which keeps inflammation low.
(Note: there is a war on the meat (and farming) industry right now in an effort to “save the planet” and combat “climate change.” Of course, for the “good of the people.” It’s complete B.S. Don’t fall for it. Quality, grass-fed red meat is THE most complete, nutritious food on earth, by far. We’ll be devoting a future issue of The Renegade Report to this new war on the meat industry, where it’s coming from, and exposing the Tyrants driving it. Stay tuned!)Hydration: Your body is 70% water. But again, source is everything. Most water is toxic in America. Our water supply is in horrendous condition today. Chemicals, metals, even drugs are finding their way into our water supply. I have a commercial grade water filtration system in my home that filters out all chemicals and metals before they even make it to my home’s plumbing system. I also have a quadruple filtered Alkaline water system installed on my kitchen sink for drinking water. There are two filters that kick in before water makes it onto our bodies and four more filters that kick in before water makes it into our mouths. Like I said, it’s a battle. ;)
Strength Training: Notice I did not say exercise. I’m not against exercise. But simple exercise — walking, jogging, boot camps, etc — isn’t enough anymore. It just doesn’t create enough of a stimulus to get a result. This is why American’s are in the worst shape ever, even though there are record numbers of gyms, classes, memberships and fitness programs available. Don’t get me wrong, it’s far better than no nothing. But it’s not very effective for lowering inflammation. You must be building as much muscle as possible through intense strength training. All other exercise comes second. The more quality muscle you have, the stronger you are, generally the lower your inflammation levels will be. Muscle is a magical, fat-burning furnace in your body. And the lower your body fat or Body Mass Index is, the lower the your inflammation levels. Muscle is the key.
Sleep: Sleep is recovery. We repair and rebuild cells and muscle in our deep sleep. It goes without saying that regular, deep sleep keeps inflammation low. You also have to know your numbers here as well. Sleep is not just sleep. Sleep is about quality, not always quantity. I use a sleep tracking device called the Oura ring to track my deep sleep, REM sleep and light sleep ratios. Like the CRP test, without this data you are guessing and shooting in the dark.
Stress Management: Stress is at all-time highs today. I get stressed just writing about the war on our food, water, air and our environment in the Unites States. It’s unprecedented. Stress is everywhere and it needs to be offset with stress management and recovery modalities. Exercise of any kind is a big stress reliever. I also do regular deep tissue massage work and I take regular 25 minute naps mid day to disconnect, destress and recharge. I also try to meditate for five to ten minutes each morning. A stress-management program needs to be taken as seriously as a workout regimen. They compliment one another.
As you can see, low inflammation is the key to optimal health, longevity and peak performance…
But only if you know YOUR numbers. Knowing and monitoring your numbers and working with a Functional medicine doctor is your best bet for truly taking control of your health and getting in the best condition of your life. Remember, Traditional medical doctors will look at you like a deer in headlights if you ask them to run certain metabolic health tests like this. And there are many more aside of this one.
See the P.S. below to find a Functional medical doctor in your area…
P.S. The Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM) is the leading authority on all things Functional medicine. Functional medicine is THE way forward. Without this new, rapidly growing alternative medicine field, it scares me to even think where we would be right now in America — and we are already the sickest the country on earth. Visit their website for more info and to find a Functional medical doctor who can work with you to optimize your “metabolic health” — the key to longevity. Info HERE
